What this notice covers
This notice explains what happens to information you submit through https://bkminteriors.com, operated by BKM Interiors, LLC. It covers the contact form and website analytics. It does not cover any separate agreement you may enter into with BKM Interiors.
Information collected through the contact form
When you submit an inquiry, we collect:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number;
- the type of project you are enquiring about;
- the general location of the project, city or ZIP code only. We do not ask for a street address at this stage;
- the message you write;
- the date and time you gave consent, and whether you chose to opt in to marketing.
The form is submitted to a server-side endpoint operated for this website. Routine technical information such as your IP address is processed there briefly for spam prevention and rate limiting.
How your inquiry is used
Your inquiry is used in two ways:
- it is emailed to BKM Interiors so they can respond to you; and
- a customer record is created or updated inSquare, the business software BKM Interiors uses to manage customer inquiries, estimates and invoices. Square acts as a processor on BKM Interiors' behalf and has its own privacy terms.
We use your details to respond to your inquiry and, if you go ahead, to carry out the work. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone other than the service providers described in this notice.
Marketing is separate
Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. The marketing opt-in on the contact form is a separate, optional checkbox that is unchecked by default. If you leave it unchecked, you will only hear from BKM Interiors about the inquiry you sent. You can opt out at any time by replying to any message or contacting us using the details below.
How long information is kept
Information from your inquiry is generally kept for up to 24 months after our last interaction with you. It sits in two places, both covered by that period: the customer record created in Square, and the notification email in the BKM Interiors email account.
It may be kept for longer where that is necessary for an ongoing business relationship, to meet obligations under a contract you have entered into with BKM Interiors, or because a legal, tax or similar requirement applies.
Technical logs recorded when the form is submitted are held by the hosting provider for about 30 days. They are used for security and troubleshooting, and are not used to build a profile of you.
You can ask BKM Interiors to delete your personal information at any time, using the contact details below. Requests are honored except where information still has to be kept for one of the reasons above.
